Kim McGuinness, Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner,  has awarded us £3000 to provide new laptop computers and mobile phones so that our team of advisors can provide advice to people struggling to cope in the Covid-19 Crisis.  The funding is being used to ensure that advisors working from home can advise people on benefits, debt, employment, housing, consumer and other problems.  They are also able to provide e-vouchers for local Food Banks  to people who are struggling to feed themselves and their families.  Our Chief Executive says "this funding is really helping us to support as many people as possible during the Covid-19 pandemic.  Lots of people are finding it hard to cope, but our advisors are all at the end of a phone, web chat or e-mail message, providing free, confidential and independent advice.  We are very grateful to the Police and Crime Commissioner for this award,  and for all the support she and staff at Northumbria Police always give to our work."
